About Paul Waxman
In 1977 Paul joined with Varied Directions, Inc as grip and assistant cameraman. Traveling to Sumatra, Singapore, Hong Kong, and throughout the United States, Paul assisted this 6-person crew as they filmed television commercials and corporate documentaries for Mobil Oil, United Technologies, Quaker Oats, PBS and IBM.
In 1979 Paul joined the J. Walter Thompson advertising agency in NYC. The youngest art director JWT had ever hired, Paul worked on a variety of accounts including Kodak, various Broadway theater productions and theatrical movie trailers, Radio City Music Hall, and The Circle Line.
After 3 years, Paul left New York for Boston and briefly joined the InterArt Group as art director responsible for advertising the renovation and reopening of the Metropolitan Center (The Wang Center)
In 1983 Paul opened Waxman Advertising Design, Inc., a small, full service agency for a variety of retail, hospitality and corporate clients in and around Boston. For 14 years as president and creative director Paul directed his company to create advertising and graphic design works for clients such as Bread & Circus, Bertucci’s, Le Meridien Hotel, Learningsmith, Au Bon Pain, Mahoney’s Garden Centers, Steve’s Ice Cream, Direct Federal Credit Union, CitySports, Shawmut Design and Construction, PureWorld Botanicals and Placewares.
In 1995 Paul moved to Lexington, MA and renamed his company, Forward5 Marketing Design, Inc. Forward5 specializes in providing small to mid-sized companies marketing strategies as well as advertising and design solutions. Forward5 clients include: The Four Points by Sheraton Norwood, One Bistro, Hobbs Brook Office Park, Mahoney’s Garden Centers, El Cid Resorts, Mexico, The Forefront Conference Center, Curriculum Associates, Educators Publishing Services, and Form In Teak.
Paul recently developed and launched “Lex Is More”, a website and email campaign to promote shopping local in Lexington.
Paul majored in Advertising and Graphic Design at Syracuse University and the University of Connecticut. Paul has also taught advertising design and graphic design at The New England School of Art & Design at Suffolk, and at Monserrat College in Beverly Massachusetts.
Paul recently moved with his wife, teenage son, and 2 cats to South Boston, Massachusetts.
